Be part of a dynamic team that prides itself on delivering advice that makes a difference.

Your new opporunity:

Our Restructuring & Insolvency team is growing, and we have a new opportunity for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team.

You will work closely with the Partners and broader team members on a wide variety of complex restructuring, advisory, insolvency and bankruptcy appointments, and also have the opportunity to work with other divisions within the business on special assignments, such as safe harbour engagements, valuations, expert reports and forensic investigations.

We’re seeking someone with exceptional communication skills, strong commercial judgement and a practical, solutions-focused mindset — someone who enjoys tackling complex problems and thinking outside the box.

What makes you ‘just right’:

  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • CA qualified, with an interest in undertaking (or currently completing) ARITA qualifications
  • A strong team-focused approach and collaborative mindset
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with clients and colleagues
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple matters at once
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented and keen to contribute positively to team culture
  • Driven, curious and motivated to innovate and continuously improve how things are  done

What your day might look like:

  • Preparation of reports to creditors
  • Trade-on management, including preparation of budgets and forecasts
  • Investigation, analysis and reporting on corporate and personal financial affairs
  • Drafting advice to lawyers and assisting in more complex legal claims
  • Preparation of insolvent trading and voidable transaction recovery actions
  • Overseeing the administration of small to medium insolvency matters
  • Working closely with partners and senior team members to manage larger engagements
  • Day to day liaison with stakeholders, including business owners, agents, lawyers etc
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory and ethical guidelines
  • Building your relationship network both within William Buck and outside the firm
  • Mentoring and developing more junior team members

What makes us ‘just right’:

  • Hybrid working:  Balance work and life with our hybrid work arrangements.
  • Career Growth & Development: Investment in your learning and development opportunities.
  • Financial Security – Free Salary Continuance insurance for all employees.
  • Wellbeing Support: Access to an In-house Psychologist and an extended Employee Assistance Program for you and your family
  • Internal Recognition & Shopping Platform: Access to thousands of discounts and retailers.
  • A culture that’s more than just Work: Bi-Monthly Colleague Lunch, Social Club events, and Run Club for fitness enthusiasts, dress for your day, volunteer days and more!
